Environmental Management System

Held every three months, this meeting is chaired by the executive officer in charge of the environment and attended by the president, senior presidents, general managers from business departments, and representatives of major manufacturing group companies. It serves as a key forum for discussing group-wide environmental strategies and activities, addressing climate change, and implementing environmental conservation initiatives.

In August 2017, we renewed our certification for ISO 14001:2015 (revised fiscal 2015), the international standard for environmental management. We are scheduled for a periodic audit in fiscal 2024. To continually enhance our environmental performance, we follow the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle.

In fiscal 2023, we met 43 of the 46 environmental targets set for our plants in Japan. For fiscal 2024, we aim to further reduce CO2 emissions, energy use, and resource consumption through 43 new targets directly related to our core operations.

We consider all employees integral to our environmental efforts and provide comprehensive training on environmental management. This includes skill development for employees, internal auditors, and evaluators of environmental management.

In fiscal 2023, we held advanced training sessions for internal auditors and offered training for 41 employees with the goal of preparing them to become new internal auditors.
