This optical isolator, compatible with high-power lasers, uses in-house developed magneto-optical glass for the Faraday rotation medium. With over 40 years of experience in the field of optical components, we offer customization for various sizes, wavelengths, and aperture sizes.

What is an optical isolator?

This component transmits only light traveling in the forward direction while blocking light traveling in the reverse direction due to the Faraday effect, a magneto-optical effect. It consists of polarizers and a Faraday rotator, which includes a magnet and Faraday rotation medium. It is used in various optical systems to protect laser sources from damage and reduce noise caused by reflected light.

  • Placement of the optical isolator in a limited area
    We can propose the smallest size according to the design. We have achieved the world’s smallest level of miniaturization for high-power fiber types.
  • Selection of a suitable wavelength for your application
    We handle a wide range of wavelengths, from ultraviolet to near-infrared, including 465 nm, 532 nm, 1030 nm, and 1064 nm.
  • Modification of the aperture size in accordance with the beam diameter
    By using glass in the Faraday element, we can increase the diameter, unlike crystals. The aperture size can be customized to meet your needs.
  • Elimination of noise and interference
    High isolation helps reduce noise. A bandpass filter can also be added to improve light quality.
  • Real-time observation of the light state
    By adding a TAP port, you can observe the quality of the light in real-time.
