Phosphor in glass: Lumiphous™

Wavelength conversion glass enhances the potential of LED and laser light sources
Lumiphous™ is a glass component designed for wavelength conversion, offering excellent weather resistance and lightfastness. It can incorporate various phosphors to customize wavelength conversions, including UV light (ultraviolet light) visualization.
Do you have any of the following challenges?
-
Looking for a more durable material
You want to explore wavelength conversion materials but are concerned about their weather resistance and lightfastness. -
Need a suitable wavelength conversion material
You've been told the phosphors needed for your wavelength conversion cannot be used due to high encapsulation temperatures. -
Want to design a low-cost UV light detector
If it's possible to design a UV light detector at a low cost, you'd like to explore that option. -
Want to use proven wavelength conversion materials
You’re considering wavelength conversion materials but need those with a proven track record in the market. -
Want to improve color rendering
Your design uses three LED colors, but you'd like to assess how the colors appear.
Advantages of Using Glass Materials
-
Can convert to a variety of wavelengths
Some wavelength conversion materials used in high-power applications require high-temperature phosphor encapsulation, limiting the types of phosphors. By using glass materials, high durability is maintained, and a wider range of phosphors can be incorporated.

-
Extensive product lineup
We have developed an ultra-thin series with a thickness of 100 μm or less. Customization options are also available to meet specific customer requirements. -
Excellent light and weather resistance
Materials with low light and weather resistance may yellow over time. However, phosphor glass maintains its functionality even after 5,000 hours at 85°C and 85% relative humidity. -
High quality and mass production
Lumiphous™ has a proven track record in automotive LED headlamps, ensuring it can be supplied with high quality and for mass production.
